I knew Michael at Lomond School. He was always a thoughtful nice person. We corresponded for a while when he found out I had lung cancer, and we shared stories of being on "trials" and trying to stay ahead of the cancer. He was very encouraging and had great strength. My sympathy to his entire family--hopefully your wonderful memories will sustain you and give you peace.

I knew Mike from Thespians and drama productions. I also worked along side him that first year on swing shift at Green Ball Bearing. I am quite saddened that he is no longer with us. He was always fun to be around. He was personable, hard working, fun loving, and had a delightful sense of humor. Sadly, I had no contact with him since those days, except for a few moments at our thirtieth reunion.  My sincerest condolences to his family and close friends.

Even though we hadn't seen each other since the 50th Reunion, I was in email contact with Michael.  He was a very special man!

I was pleased that one of Michael's friend forwarded the obituary that is posted on the Class of 1961 web site.  My heartfelt condolences to Marilyn and the rest of his family.

I am so sorry to hear about Michael.  And I'm even sadder that I didn't take the opportunity to visit in Akron at his invitation.  We had a wonderful reconnection at the class reunion.  We stood on the Shaker stage where so much of our time was spent in high school theater.  We reminisced about South Pacific, Guys and Dolls, Angel Eyes, the torch song I sang... and of course Arsenic and Old Lace.  When I forgot things he was quick to fill in, with generous heart.  The memorial tribute to him of a life well lived is so inspiring.  Knowing that Michael, the consummate thespian, had a hand in writing it is doubly poignant and an important model for all of us as we go kicking and shoving climbing up the age ladder.  My heartfelt condolences to a very loving family.

What a beautiful tribute posted on our Class of 61 web site.  Michael remained a dear, dear friend as we navigated our way from the halls of Lomond through the rest of our educational journey at Shaker. Bright and funny he ran my campaign for student council president in the sixth grade. Considering the competition, coming in second was great. We had similar values and dreams back then. It appears he maintained his values and lived his dreams. How fortunate we all were to have known him. My sincere condolences to you, Marilyn and your children. May his memory be for a blessing.  Judy Perry Kurimai

I was so sorry to hear about Michael we lived on the street behind his and our houses backed up to each other so I feel that I have known him for a very long time. It was so interesting to read all that he accomplished and to catchup on his life it is just too bad that it ended so recently.  I was happy to have last seen him at our reunion. All my  thoughts  to his family.

Had not seen Michael in almost 50 years when I bumped into him two years akron at the akron JCC.  He was kind enough to invite me over to his house with his wife Marilyn for dinner.  He was a great man with many interests.  Never met his kids, but I was able to learn about them at his funeral service.  He will be missed by all.
